Privacy Policy
Our operating principle is data minimisation: we ask for as little as possible, keep it for as short a time as practical, and focus our research on companies rather than the person commissioning it.
Information we collect
We collect only the information required to process your order and deliver your report. In practice this means the details your checkout requires to complete a purchase, an email address for delivery, and the competitor brief you submit.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for information that is unnecessary to the engagement.
Research focuses on companies, not purchasers
The research we conduct is directed at the companies you nominate. Your identity is not part of the subject matter of the report, is not disclosed to the companies being analysed, and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
After checkout you receive a private research access code linked to your order. Where possible, we correspond about an engagement by reference to that code rather than to your personal details.
Order information and research brief information
We treat two categories of information separately. Order information is what checkout requires to complete the transaction, plus the delivery email address and the research access code issued against the order. Research brief information is what you submit about the market and the competitors you want examined.
The two are held apart. Research briefs are used only to produce your dossier; they are not attached to marketing records, not used to build a customer profile, and not disclosed to the companies analysed. Order information is used only to complete, support and account for the transaction.
Payments
Payment is taken in cryptocurrency through our payment provider's secure checkout. We do not operate card payments, and we do not receive or store card details.
Cryptocurrency is offered because it is a privacy-conscious payment method that keeps the information required to commission research to a minimum. It is not offered as a way to avoid identification: our payment provider applies its own transaction screening and compliance procedures, and may request information where its obligations require it.
How we use information
Information is used to fulfil your order, deliver your report, respond to enquiries, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and detect misuse of the service. It is not sold, and it is not used for profiling.
Retention
Order records are retained only as long as required for delivery, support and applicable legal or tax obligations. Research briefs and drafts are removed from working systems once an engagement is closed, subject to those obligations.
Third parties
We use service providers for payment processing, email delivery and website hosting. Those providers process information on our behalf and under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not disclose client information to any other party except where required by law.
Your rights
You may request access to the information we hold about you, ask that it be corrected, or request deletion where we are not required to retain it. Contact the practice to make a request.
